Title or Location: Abandoned Relay Station.
The original photo of this was, I believe, a frame from a Western. It reminded me of the relay stations for the 1860 Pony Express. This very short lived postal service took ten days to reach California from St Louis. These stations were set up at regular distances across the west to provide food, water and fresh mounts for the young riders.

Title or Location: Outback Dry Season.
Cloudless sky once again in Australia's interior but after many weeks of drought the air is laden with dust making the distant mountain less defined. Life there is a struggle and it wouldn't surprise me if the dwelling has been abandoned.

Title or Location: Before Words
Before Words - 12 x 16 inch oil on canvasThis work focuses on a quiet moment of trust, where connection exists without language or intention. The dog rests into the hand without hesitation, reflecting a form of understanding that does not need to be expressed. The presence of the thread is subtle, reinforcing connection through closeness rather than visible structure.

Title or Location: Carp in Pond.
Spent much time in my younger years trying to lure these wary fish onto my hook and succeeding only on a handful of occasions. On hot, sunny days they will seek shade and safety under a raft of water lilies, much like the one in my painting.

Held in Heaven - oil on canvasA woman stands beside a white horse, eyes closed, not in retreat, but in trust. The horse does not simply accompany her. It meets her in a space beyond language, where recognition is immediate and complete. There is no asking, no reaching. Only knowing.Above them, light descends. Not as decoration, but as something active, something that surrounds and carries. Within it, fine golden threads begin to emerge, moving between them, through them, forming the first

Title or Location: Authenticity
My art "Authenticity"This piece represents my journey of transformation ? a journey of becoming the truest and most authentic version of myself. It is about releasing limiting beliefs, breaking free from old patterns, and leaving behind the masks I once wore to fit expectations and seek acceptance. The act of removing the mask symbolizes letting go of the false identities that no longer serve me and embracing who I truly am.At its heart, this artwork carries a powerful message: be aut

Title or Location: My Favourite Toy
This is Marley, one of my loopy border collies. I managed to take the reference photo for this drawing in one of his quiet moments, while he was hugging his favourite toy and stopping his brother Bob from stealing it! It was a challenge drawing him on pastelmat as I'm not too experienced with it but quiete happy with how he came out! He's drawn in a mix of faber castel polychromos, caran d'ache luminance and some derwent drawing pencils.

Title or Location: Balnagask golf course
I loved this photograph from John Strachan photography and finally got around to painting it in acrylic. I tried to be quite loose with the painting as there was so much detail. in the end I thought the sky looked a bit bare so with the help of Chat GPT I added seagulls to the photo and was then able to paint them into my art work. This painting will be heading for the Aberdeen art show the end of August for sale.
